Krishna Sobti’s 2 Works – InShorts

डार से बिछुड़ी

A captivating story of a young woman who goes through some heart-wrenching experiences in life. She eventually finds her life turned upside down once again when she is caught in the frenzy of the last and most violent and deciding battle between Sikh soldiers and British colonialists in Punjab in 1849. The historical backdrop of the story and the social-cultural context of the time makes it an interesting and informative reading.

दिलो-दनिश

Perhaps the best of Sobti’s works…at least in my view! Rich description of characters, times, contexts, and emotions. The author’s expression is wonderful.
